It's been about 3 weeks since I updated on this. So, without further delay (and just for mDust), here's some pictures of my potential victim...er, candidate for BBQ-Q. I apologize for low picture quality, as the only camera I have at the moment is my Droid Eris.

Here's the grill in the original box, which you can see is a little worse for the wear: (The blurry text list says -8 burger capacity, -Porcelain coated steel hinged lid, -Locking lid for safe portability, and the color is "Red Sedona.")

    Unboxed:

Finally, here's the bottom with the lid placed on top. For size comparison, that mayo jar beside it is about 6.5 inches (16.51 cm) tall.

Some quick measurements of the grill tell me bottom pan is 14.25 inches (36.20 cm) in diameter at it's widest point, 11 inches (27.94 cm) at narrowest, and about 3 inches (7.62 cm) deep. The porcelain lid adds about 6.5 inches (16.51 cm), for a total height of 9.5 inches (24.13 cm). Means I should be able to fit a standard mATX motherboard in there. Now I just have to decide which one...I had been considering the ASUS Maximus III Gene...any other suggestions?

Been doing some research for this build. I think I've come up with the hardware I'd like to use for it, but I thought I'd post to get second opinions.

No firm decisions on hardware have been made yet, beyond the following specifications (due to size limits):
-Motherboard must be microATX, less than 14" diagonal (9.6" by 9.6" max dimensions) to fit
    -No fans larger than 80mm
-CPU cooler must be either low-profile or less than 90mm tall
-RAM heat spreaders cannot have fins over 1/2" tall to fit around CPU cooler (may change)

I have been considering the following:
ASUS Maximus III Gene Socket 1156 P55 mATX Motherboard
    Core i7 8xx Series CPU
Scythe Big Shuriken Low Profile CPU Cooler
Patriot Sector 5 DDR3 1600 RAM (not sure on the heat spreaders with these)
Video Card, Hard Drive, & Optical Drive are undecided

    What do you all think?

Thanks to more pressing matters (i.e. finishing my Master's degree and my parents' new computer), I'm going to have to put Project BBQ-Q on the backburner for a while. Never fear, it will make a triumphal return soon enough. For now, though, consider this idea/work log "on hiatus."
