like tape off the inside radiator part and spray the outside shroud silver, then add the rust and especially towards the bottom and around the fittings like it's been leaking rusty water for some time now.

Nice mod came across the forums while looking for inspiration on my first case mod
just had a little suggestion the three military switches could you possible incorparate a boot up sequence ?
for example switch 2, switch 1, switch 3 if not done in this order refuses to accept card or something on those lines just another layer of "security"

It would definitely be possible to do. There was actually a project over on Hack-A-Day where I guy did just that for a rocket launch controller. I tried looking for the article but couldn't find it. But it was just as you describe. If you don't flip the switches in the correct order it will not operate
