So, I'm going to need some rackmount cases - but they're normally really ugly. I need a 2u and a 4u, I'm happy to rip off the front and make something new, but I'd like something with a nice interior.
My need for drive bays is minimal.

I'm having a DAW built. I record with my computer in my bedroom and therefore am looking for an ultraquiet quality rackmount case. Durability is also a concern since I'll be going on the road with it and using it for live performance. I've been looking at the Arktech rack case (silvery aluminum, used by Vision) and would love to hear feedback about that if anyone has experience with it.

Rack mount cases aren't designed to be pretty. Normal mortals never see them.

I would love to have a rack in my house. I just don't have the room now plus moving it every 2 years would be a huge pain.
Actually, there are some nice mobile 1/4 and 1/2 racks that wouldn't be that hard to move semi-regularly.

i'm building a 2m long desk with a pair of 10u racks as the pillars in about a week - I've decided my stuff has been a mess for long enough, and it's become quite unfeasible to keep working on my computer(s) as I have been, so I'm chucking the whole lot into racks..
Hahahaha, nice!
