Do you use VPN?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could give me your thoughts on VPN. I am covering this for my final year dissertation at university.
I am investigating some different protocols and was interested in getting a feel for what people use if they do.

the main thing I was wanting to know is,
• Do you use it?
• If so what type do you use?

e.g.
PPTP
IPSEC
L2TP
SSL/SSH

I dont mind if its for home or work and you dont have to mention what the VPN is for so you can keep your secret things secret

Any information would help greatly for my project

I use ssh for a minecraft server . When i want to wake up computers using my router.

yea my i have a custom router that's using pfsense

I use SSH to log into my Linux home server. Best way to manage a headless server, and least amount of bandwidth, IMO.

I use it at work to monitor Wi-fi on Amtrak trains.

Crenn is that irc to send commands or are you hosting a channel on it? sounds interesting either way.

Just using IRC to chat with others including helping out with electronic type questions when I can.

I run a windows 7 computer headless but RDC into it, usually via SSH.
