Hello Kitty:
ROCK STAR
I'm doing another kid case for eldest daughter who really wants a Hello Kitty theme PC
The victim case is the Diablotek Fly. The only complaint I have is that the case is rediculously light. I'm not sure if it'll make a difference with all the parts inside, but at least it will get heavier
I love the brushed aluminum interior, except that it's going away
I took the hard drive cage out. It will retain it's natural color to give the interior a cool contrast
My daughter gave me little direction or advice. Her only desire, it had to be RED
The front had two layers of mesh filters. You'd really need a high RPM fan to pull air through all of that
The front got the same cherry red treatment
Even with so many years of modding, there will always be new supplies to try out. This time I'll be using some spray on glitter and the matching sealant
This one shows how well it looks
I found this round mesh in my piles of PC stuff
After I repainted it to silver I used hot glue to bond it to the bezel
I think that silver would be the right color with the whole Rock Star look. Looks cool
Next, the slot covers and mesh drive bays were painted to match
While it dries, I cut a 120mm top exhaust
And reconnect the USB ports
Once they're all dry I put the slot covers in leaving the second slot open for the video card
And after the interior dries, I put the drive bay cage back inside
And the drive bay covers
The specs? A matching DVD drive
Intel i3 2100 processor and a Gigabyte motherboard
Two 4GB sticks of Corsair Vengeance LP
A 120GB Sandisk SSD
An Oveclocked GTX 550 (yeah, way over-kill! for a 13 year old Girl)
And I might as well use this spare 1000 Watt power supply! More of that Over-kill.
I don't like that the PSU is not modular and I might literally cut off all the wires I'm not using
