I don't think I have done a project yet that took less than 8-10 months. Take your time and buy things as you need them. No one said they all have to be done in 2 months.

I have a couple older motherboards that I have gotten from a friend. They'll help to finish up a couple projects, then I can sell them on CL/gift to family.
And some of my "projects" have just been random ideas that I have jotted down, and never actually started.

Others (like my HTPC and ModCron) just need a couple parts, and then they're finished.

Don't fall into the trap where you think you need hardware in order to make a great mod. I know the community was divided on it when we had a poll a few years back, but I still stand by my position that a mod doesn't have to have fancy hardware in it in order to be great.

For the most part, components are standardized. Use an old broken board to get things how you want them and just build the case. You don't need new shiny hardware to complete a mod. It's case modding, not shove the fanciest hardware into a box, sleeve a few wires, and call it magnificent, modding.

Seriously, though, senior graduation is in a few weeks.

    Crunch time.

    Then crunch time.
