Not big on cordless mice. Or BlueTooth, WiFi, IrDA. Physical wiring might sometimes be a minor hassle - but their signal-bandwidth, reliability, and security are superior. I would never use a wireless keyboard in today's keylogging world.

My mind says Technic, but my body says Duplo.
I've never experienced any bandwidth or reliability issues with any of the wireless mice I've used. I could see security issues with wireless keyboards, but with mice? The mouse communicates vectors and clicks. I would provide anyone that 'data' for free upon asking for it. I think Google logs it as well after a search, though I think they provide it as anonymous aggregate.
I honestly wouldn't mind the wires if I sat at a desk. I use my TV as a monitor though and sit on the couch 12' away. I have a 15' USB extension running across my open floor for my mouse and headphones. I deal with it because I have to at the moment.
Build me an encrypted wireless mouse/keyboard combo with the features of my current devices and I'll buy them just for the geek factor.
I'll procrastinate tomorrow.
Wireless mouse? You'd have to know exactly where the icons were, what exactly they were doing.
Wireless keyboard?

You have to buy genuine wireless gaming mice. The ones that don't last 4 years on half a battery, but only last one day on a full battery. The difference between wired gaming mice and wireless gaming mice is nothing that a human being would be able to notice. The charging is the only hassle. But, just do that whenever you go to bed.
Hah, I've already got two keyboards, two mice, and a tablet plugged into my main computer. Agreed, if you're just doing casual stuff with laptops and TVs and XBox and whatever then wireless is a total advantage - just keep a spare peripheral handy so there's always one at full charge.
I'm still convinced, in my creepy old tinfoil-hat conspiracy theory nerd paranoia, that carelessly using wireless keyboards or doing personal info and banking and stuff like that across WiFi is just asking to be a victim. Mouseclicks aren't of any real consequence without alphanumeric data to support them.

I've got an IR keyboard. For an HTPC.
Now you guys've reinforced my want for wired keyboards.
At least 4g is heavily encrypted...
IR is not a problem. Not like the neighbor across the street is going to be sniffing packets off it.
I have a hammer! I can put things together! I can knock things apart! I can alter my environment at will and make an incredible din all the while! -Calvin
^Yes. IR requires DIRECT access. So, unless they happen to have a IRLED pointed at your window through theirs, you can't do much.
RF? As long as you know the protocol, frequency, and encryption algorithm (if any), they're "useful" to you.
As for mouse? Yeah, not much you could extrapolate from it. Other than they move it around a lot.
My big concern with WiFi is that radio doesn't stop at property lines. Are you leeching and stealing your neighbour's internet, or is his internet trespassing in your radio space?
I'm inclined to mod my remote control, replace that wimpy little IRED with an IR Laser diode heehehehe. Obviously not intended to be aimed at humans or IR reflective surfaces, but might be handy for "jamming" a neighbour's television from across the block - in retaliation for his internet trespasses!

Coupled with an Arduino, you can send ANY command at that IR reciever!
