    Default Project: Studded- COMPLETED!

I've always loved steel diamond plate. It's such a strong and attractive metal and I like using it here and there when modding

For a while now, I've been thinking that a computer made entirely of diamond plate would be pretty cool. It will be in a diamond plate box shrouded inside in diamond plate!

My canvas is a diamond plate steel box

First, I got a micro ATX motherboard and PSU to see if it would all fit. These are not the components that I'm using, but just a size guide for what I need

For those parts that you need to be plastic, not metal, there is acrylic with a diamond plate finish available. Might be worth taking a look at if you need it.

It only took me 6 weeks of Playing Borderlands 2 to finally cut the window

    And the card slots too

I cut out the backplate area

    And the PSU intake

Then I riveted the motherboard tray in place and added the PSU

Interesting how much modding you get done when you're playing Borderlands 2...

Just for grins, I'd recommend half-mirrored acrylic for the window. If there's lighting inside the case, you'll see the interior. If it's off, it'll look mirrored.

Now on to the motherboard shroud. I mapped out the motherboard using cardboard

And then traced it onto the piece of diamond plate I'm using

Then I just had to cut it all out

I can't have the bare metal from the diamond plate touching the surface of the motherboard, so I'm coating the bottom with liquid rubber

The dry time will be at least a couple of days

I cut out two 70mm fan intakes

I'm using these aluminum 70mm fans for the perfect match, but I'm still waiting on the grills

    And a 120mm on top

The grills arrived. I'll be using longer screws with nuts, and rubber washers

I bought feet for a Lian Li case

Once all the fans and feet were mounted I used my dremel to cut off the excess screw thread

I'm gonna put the power button on the back

    Time to get the wiring
