The sunbeam front panel is kinda pointless unless he really wants all that stuff. Also xp home is cheaper I never saw any point in getting XP pro unless you really want to tool around and do remote desktop connection. It's only $87.99 ($88 )

The extra $76 could be spent on a better graphics card or maybe just leave it the way it is and save $76
    Need a sig

Okay two more things... No, three more.

First, if you really intend to go with Intel, the best overclocking processor you could buy is the Pentium D 805 (http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...CP1-PD-805%20C) which is basically rated at 133FSB*20 for a 2.66GHz base speed. You can overclock it to more than 4GHz with lots of work.

With the stock cooling you can get it to 166MHz FSB = 3.33GHz on stock voltage. For better stability, increase the memory frequency to the maximum which should be DDR-533. Getting from 133FSB to 166FSB will unlock new memory frequencies which you will be able to use to increase system stability. The temps will be a little hot, so I could recommend you a new CPU heatsink (if you can get the best Zalman around it would be just fine). After that you can get that beauty to 3.60GHz (180FSB) always on the stock voltage. And since the FSB will be upped, your memory will work faster which will result into a nice general performance gain. If you wanna go to 4GHz, if you are using the best Zalman heatsink then the temps will play around 70C while loaded so I strongly recommend you a Watercooling setup. No need for a mroe than $200 setup, something really basic can do it (I believe Thermaltake has one really cheap). Up the voltage to 1.5625V in the bios and you push the FSB to 200MHz! 20multi*200MHz FSB = 4GHz

The best boards around for this processors are :
    Asus P5WD2-E Premium
    Asus P5WD2-WS Premium
    Asus P5WD2 Premium
    Gigabyte G1975X Turbo
    Gigabyte 8I955X Royal

Note that you will need a PSU of AT LEAST 500W since the CPU will take around 150W by itself at 4GHz.

    Complete guide : http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/05/..._41_ghz_cores/

Second, I really dont recommend using your computer on a TV. The quality just sucks. I still recommend you having one computer screen hooked up all the time, i ncase you have problems with your TV display.

Third, note that Lexan, plexi, acrylic, etc, are all the same kind of plastic. Lexan is not basically bulletproof, whoever told you that is wrong. Lexan tend to heat and can bend at very high temps, and I still recommend you to buy a plexi case. It seems like you're young and have no experience in cutting palstic and plexi, it would be more dangerous and worthless than buying one.

ok nagoshi i dont have the money to do that my family has an old old from before 2000 15" crt monitor that i can use just in case or get one from my friend for cheap or if my dad decides to get a new computer this one second im not going to overclock a processor like that because i dont have $200 for water cooling so im going 3.0Ghz and maybe overclocking that eventually aalso i can afford a $200 board and i dont need a 500W psu since im not going to overclock to 4.1Ghz lastly i have plenty experience workin with metal and plastic al you guys or most have the necessity of a dremely or some sort of cutting tool ive done plenty work with both metal and plexi and i did it old school and long amounts of sweat and blood and maybe not pc case thick lexan but at higher thicknesses it is basically bulletproof i already chose a good case ive got my $610 will have to save longer about 2 months so im gunna have done plenty of homework and will know my stuff and most of my computer knowledge has been gained in the past month and ive been absorbing it like a sponge and the building part im like mcgyver i made a fan out of a bottle cap a 9V a rc engine and a pretzel jar and a rocket out of pen parts im adhd so im always thinking if im gunna mod or build something i need no help outside of the computer parts like psu mobo and proc ok but i wanted to ask some people who knew what they were talking about on reccomendations since im on a budget

Okie but dont tell I will have told you.

I still recommend having at least 500W of power for your computer, even if youre not going to overclock it all the way up, if you plan on having leds, cathodes, and accessories... just think that by itself the D805 processor, when not overclocked, takes 85W of power. Plus your mobo, HDDs, CD drives, and everything else that will be in it, you woull get up easily at 400+ watts. And dont think about getting a cheap no-brand PSU, unless you wanna buy a new computer in a year. Go with a brand, such as Thermaltake, Antec or many more computer brands, sparkle, enermax, etc.

You will have to waste quite a huge amount of time in that plexi/lexan case if you really want to build it, you will need to drill all the measurements for your board screw holes, your PCI slots, the PSU hole, the drives cage (dont think for your current comp, youll need at least 3 5.25'' bays and 3 3.5'' bays, and this is a bare minimum), all the holes for your buttons, leds, fans, etc, this is going to be alot of work. Its okay if you want to spend all your summer on that case instead of working, its not my trouble.

And you can overclock the D805 processor to 3.33GHz on the stock heatsink. Its going to run a bit hot, but if you have a good cooling in your case (front and rear fans) its going to be just fine. Note that the D805 is a dual-core, and dual cores are 64-bit.

Nagoshi, I helped him with this computer, you can be sure it will run. If you read the final design, it has an Antec Sonata II, with a 450W Antec SmartPower. I think that should be enough for him, including him overclocking.

Also, his budget doesn't allow for a D805.
