You cant move the PCI-E slot to another expansion slot. You'd never fit it in there with the other PCI or PCI-E slots on the board. The only way i could see that happening is if you de-soldie'd whatever slot was in your way and totaly removed it from the board.

    PCI-E x16 Extention Cable:

    Standard PCI slots are 32bits@33Mhz

I believe the 64bit PCI slots are for U1 servers. (dont quote me on that though)

Dude that's what I do. YW

EDIT: btw I noticed they do PCI-E and PCI-E 2.0 I'd get the latter so you are futureproofed - check its x16 compatible if thats what you need now thoygh.

Hey, just a quick one... do you think it's possible to create one with a longer flex? - As in take a flexible ribbon one (saves a bit of time compaired to trying to build from scratch) and extend the ribbon to i dont know, say a foot?
Just i'm contemplating a design which would really need the cards to be off the motherboard...so, i'm thinking with a foot long flex, i could move them to pretty much anywhere i fancy. I suspect that a flex that long with high end cards would probably need some alterations in BIOS, but in principal...do you think it would work?

It's either a silly idea (yup) or an inspired one

If it's a PCI express one, in all likelihood, you will get some amount of signal loss.
