Hello guys,
This is def. not computer related, but I think it might help some members from going down a crappy path in life.
I quit smoking!!!
I wanted to share with you guys, because I think it's a double win.
1st - No more smoking (zero!)
2nd- This has been going on for one year!!!
That's right! I quit 366 days ago.
I've been Marlboro-free for one full year, and I'm as happy as can be.
You can breathe!!!
I used to smoke a pack a day... you know, wake up in the morning, grungy go light up the 1st one.
Have a meal... light it up.
Chillin' in the car? Light it up.
Hanguin' out with friends'? Light it up.
Screw that.
Yuck!
I'm so happy.
I quit cold turkey.
No patches, no gum... no 'steps'.
If you're thinking of quitting, use whatever means you have at your disposal, but for the love of god, quit.
Ironically, one of my neighbor's, a 55-60 guy (the one that teached me 90% of the stuff I know about vehicle mechanics), is in the hospital right now.
I believe he has under 1 day to live.
I was yesterday by his bedside, and it's sad.
He can't speak. He doesn't have his eyes opened.
His entire body jerks back and forth as he tries to breath.
"HE" doesn't breath... a machine does it for him.
Why?
Because he smoked cigarettes.
To see his son (my age), his daughter (smaller), and his wife crying... it isn't fair, IMO.
It isn't only you... it's your loved ones.
The ones that have to see you die slowly.
The ones that have to get up early in the morning, and leave their agenda aside, to go see you in the hospital... because you were too selfish to quit.
The ones that have to cry in the hall, because it's a lost cause. You *will* die.
It isn't fair to them.
So, if anybody smokes here, I strongly urge you guys to quit.
Quit the crappy smoke. Quit.
I wish you all the very best
-AJ
EDIT: I did some quick math, and in my past year, if the rate was a 20cig pack a day,
I haven't smoked: 7,300 cancer sticks
and I've saved 1,460 US dollars.
Wow.
