Thanks guys!
That photshop example looks very good! i don't think it would be a problem if the case is a little longer to fit his legs, so it's not a 'must' to cut his legs off above his knee. And in fact, a healty alien should fit the case as well.
So a long and short leg is also a option and if i have the time for it this weekend, then i wil do some claywork and collect/build metal parts which should look like his bones or knee etc. Whe have a lot of scrapy parts around here that could do the job for that.
Can't wait to give it some progress, led's and lasers (only the red ones, green has some delivery/stock problems) should be here within a few days too.
(i just came back from a holiday in Denmark)
Guys, first a happy new year! may it bring many modding wishes come true hehe.
I'm working on his legs atm. The left one is cutted just below his knee, including metal knee/bones and various tubes and wires which are broken off at that point. The same for his right leg, but that's one is a few cm shorter so it stops above his knee. quite like the PS picture above
Can't wait for pictures!

Update time
Here are his legs, steaming hot, right out of the oven. The bolt should be replaced with something else wich looks more realistic.
Well, that's almost all i have to show, last thing is my garage, it was such a mess i decided to change some things and clean it up. Such a hell of a job!
While working on it
After 3 hours of work.
2 desks were moved, the one for the computer was too small, while the photo desk was very large, so i switched and now i have a lot more space.
The blacklite has been switched with a normal TL light. Another improvement is the huge blue dremel toolbox (in the middle of the 1'th picture), i placed all the parts and bits in a smaller box in a tray, easy and clean.
I'm not finished, but it's starting to look clean hehe
Lucky alien
Very nice work so far, and i like your workshop, btw who is the fly ass hunnie on the alien? lol
Sunday's update time
Time to connect his legs to the body part with polyester. I've never used that stuff before, but my thoughts were right: It's a very strong way to bind the parts together.
I took a piece of wood with screws to create some kind of mall to position the alien before the polyester is applied.
After applying.
The head was still waiting for a clear coat. I used matte coat on the overall skin, and some glossy around his eyes, mouth and veins. That's more realistic, see for yourself in the mirror that the skin around your eyes is more shiny.
Software thought it would be good to flip the image, and i forgot to flip it back. Sorry!
Back to his legs:
From now on, it's 'her' not his hehe, when the clay is hard i can finish that part hehe :p
Above the legs i'm planning to put this:
Otherwise it's so empty, the metal points will be growing out of the skin, hanging a bit above the mesh, acting like a protection shield.
ps: wanna guess where the points came from?
I wasn't shure if the difference in material (clay from his legs and the polyester) would be visible trough the paint. I added some green paint and saw no difference, only some bubbles, gaps etc. in the polyester which i was sanding away at this picture.
