Cutting steel cases and acrylic paint question...
I was wondering what tools are the best for cutting steel cases at a pretty detailed level. I would like to cut designs out of the steel itself, and I was wondering if there was a tutorial out there.
Also, I have a case with an acrylic clear panel on the side, so is there a way to cut and paint acrylic panels?

Re: Cutting steel cases and acrylic paint question...
you could get a dremel and an appropriate cutting bit for cutting steel.
for the acrylic, go on google, there are a few tutorials on how to cut acrylic.

Re: Cutting steel cases and acrylic paint question...
Welcome to the boards
For detailed designs nothing beats a jewelers saw. This is a hand tool so it will be slow but you can get great detail.
If you want more speed then use a jigsaw, dremel or maybe a roto zip.
the best advice is to practice on some scrap metal first.

Re: Cutting steel cases and acrylic paint question...
Hey, thanks guys. I found a jewelers saw with blades pretty cheap on ebay, and I am looking to find a dremel too.
Edit: any idea which dremel model is good? I was looking at the 300 and 400 series of corded rotary tools, and was wondering if anybody had any advice from personal experience.
