Working on a sidepanel for a mod I've been throwing around, I've attached an image to show you sort of what I'm talking about.
I created this graphic using Paintshop Pro to make the panel texture and SketchUp to make the 3 dimensional image.
What I hope to do is to frost the flames and nvidia logo, leaving the main bulk of the nvidia logos shape unfrosted. Just the border design around it and the actual nvidia symbol.
Also I hope to leave the black parts unfrosted having them instead just clear plexiglass.
My question is..how would I go about this? Mask off the parts that I don't want frosted with some sort of tape, I doubt masking tape would work as I don't see it holding up very well under a wetrub.
With the addition of focused LED lights mounted somewhere inside the case I hope to illuminate the flames/nvidia logo with blue while having a lighter possibly white light shining through the unfrosted part.
Any input is much appreciated as I see alot of plexiglass work on these forums.
Eventually I'd like the entire case to be done in a white/blue sort of style and all plexiglass.
The name I'm throwing around for this mod is "FrostFire" in hopes that I'll be able to make it run as cool as possible. "FrostFire" is a good natured jab at ATi's "Crossfire"
I'm really at a loss as to how to go about this, currently working on making a detailed mock-up of my laptop window mod at the moment, so many projects..so few dollars to get them off the ground.
But payday comes twice a month!
