Well. I have done some research about Memory Latency and have pasted it in this thread. I have included the website to the Extreme Tech Website which I used for some of my research. To be honest you might just as well read their explantion as it is probably clearer and easier to read. Any way hope it helps anyone who has an interst in the topic. Please mention any mistakes I have made.

if your talkin brands, leadtek and the BFG OC seems to be the front runners in terms of performance and stable ocing.

the fastest single pci-e card is the x850xt. however nvidia's have the advantage of SLI. two 6600 Ultra would outperform the x850xt if you have money for a dual gpu setup.

Thanks for this guys. Sorry about the lateness of my reply but I have been on holiday tghe last week. Boy have things changed around here. I think that I will probably buy some memory before my GPU, unfortunately my budget doesn't stretch to both.

on a budget, a geforce FX 6600, or a non-ultra geforce fx 6800. THere are arguments either way about whether ATI or nvidia is best. personally, i prefer Nvidia, but that's just me.

as i said before. jeez i wonder if ppl actually read the posts lol. if you dont have money, but you still want the best videocard... maybe you should wake up for the x850 xt you would pay around 650-700 usd, a dual 6800Ultra would cost you around $1200

yea but an x850 really only makes 10 fps more than a single 6800u. so i'd only get it if you absolutely have to have the best.

a 6600gt or a 9600xt would be a far better budget buy imo.

if im not mistaken the title of the thread is: "What is the best PCI-E GPU to get these days?"
if the x850 really only makes 10fps more, it is still the fastest PCI-E card to get these days. the 6600gt and the 9600xt is a far better budget i agree, but they asked the fastest card, and not the budget if you know what i mean
