New Aim Virus!!! **urgent**

hey a couple of my friends got this virus and from the info that i gathered here is what it does. you get an IM with this message "check out my pictures" its a hyperlink that goes to "redblock.co.kr/pictures.pif" it will ask you to download it, after you download it, it will start sending this message to everyone on your buddy list. warn your friends, update your anti-virus software and be careful.

i got this message from couple people saying: "rofl. is this really you?" and the link. I clicked on it and downloaded it, but my anti-spyware and virus scanner killed it immediately. apparently it doesnt do any harm but you gotta be careful

Why would you open a .pif file from someone unknown anyway?

It is an interface file to run MS-DOS apps inside windows. Might as well open a .COM or most any other executable file...

well, as MrSlacker originally stated, it is sent to all the people in your buddy list. Presumably, the message would have originated from someone who had you on their buddy list. So, you would be getting it from someone you know.

out of ppl who i know that opened it, have 0 comp skills and all they know how to do is AIM, IE, and MS Word
