I read what you said but this is not too bad I don't think. Would you be able to sell a 1GB or even 512MB of RAM pelase?

    Cheers

I would not like to part it because I am afraid of being left with some parts. Sorry. I need the money so I can upgrade. If it does not get sold here, It will be up on eBay.

    Not true.

Lets do a individual price check!:

    2 Gigs of DDR 400 RAM - 200+$

    MSI Mobo - Approx 55+$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813130041R (open box)

    AMD 3400+ - Approx 90$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103023 (open box)

    Thermaletake PSU - 40$

    DVD/CD burner - 30$

    WS 200GB Hard drive - 75$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144146

Windows Media Center OS - 100+$

Sturdy quality case such as eMachines - 50+$

Total price !! !! 640$ WITHOUT TAX AND SHIPPING!
Add 30$ shipping, and 60$ tax, and you get a total of
    730$

So, good luck fitting that into 600$. Oh, and you have to take time to build it yourself (which isnt too big if you know what your doing).

Holy hell man! Where do you get $30 tax and $60 shipping?! I never get taxed from Newegg, and I've never had more than $15 shipping. Also, some of your estimated prices seem a little iffy to me... $50 for an eMachines case? I have one sitting in my basement, and I'd be hard pressed to find anyone willing to pay more than $20 for it. But that isn't what this thread is about.

    /Offtopic

Edit: Also, how are you getting some of those prices??? A 3400+ on Newegg is $75. Where is this $90 coming from?

Idk, I guess I'm just really confused on how you are pricing this up.

The CPU is open box on newegg for 75$ ... 90$ new. And if were to buy a case less than 50$ it would not be sturdy, it would be flimsy, like my case... which is 30$ and a bit flimsy.
    Emachine cases are good quality

I just configured a similar rig for $547 on newegg, and it has a 250gb 16mb cache SATA hard drive.

With a 16x DVD dual layer dvd burner, MCE 2005, 6100 gpu motherboard (since the msi one isnt listed), 2gb DDR400 ram, 250gb hd, Steel ATX case, Thermaltake 430w psu.

And everything is brand new in box, not used.

Just showing it can be done.

    and emachines is just ewh
