    Default 3D Studio Max 7

I started playing with 3dsm7 couple days ago. it is a great 3d editing animation program, however i ran into a slight problem. i cannot seem to render maps to my objects(on the materials), or it is not showing on them only on the little preview object. ive been trying to solve this without any success and its bugging me so much. anyone with more experience? pls post

I have been without my 3ds max for about a month now...
Are you trying to render a .bmp texture onto an object? as the objects texture?

I'd suggest looking through the free resources... they have lots of very specific help in the Reference guide...

any texture. in the material editor, every effect under the "maps" section is showing in the preview, but not on the actual object (doesnt matter if its bitmap texture, bumpmaps, checkboard, reflection etc) i cannot apply them to my shapes I looked at many tutorials and guides about materials and textures but they dont indicate any problems regarding to this, they just carry on with the rest while im stuck without the maps

    Hi Frakk

Do the textures show correctly when you render the scene?

If so check the 'Show Map in Viewport' option in the Material Editor.

    Hope that helps.
