It definitely is. When you move a window, it blobs around like jelly, and with Gnome you can customize to your hearts desire. Hell, you can even make it look like Vista if you want!

There isn't any way to configure Ubuntu to run Windows programs though, is there? I use my PC for gaming quite a bit otherwise I'd be using something else besides Vista.

Well, from what I know, you have to configure it all and all that stuff... damnit, I should just stop being lazy and install Ubuntu and work on this as I have nothing better to do. Hehe.

Wine is correct. It doesn't do all Windows programs, but for what you're getting with a free download for a free OS, you can't really beat it.
Unless you use the paid-for version called Cedega, which is strictly games but costs $5 a month. Much more compatibility, but you pay for it.
