Overclocking with AMD 4200+

My 4200+ is currently overclocked to 2.42GHz running at 26° celsius. I use a Zalmann air cooler which works pretty well, when I play games like Battlefield 2 the temp never goes over 38° celsius. I know that this CPU can be overclocked to 20% stable (right now it's 10%). I am kind of new to overclocking and in the BIOS I just set it to 10%, I didn't manually do it. 10% is the highest it goes that way and I would like to overclock it to 20%, can someone help me?

I have an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard.

What program do you use to monitor your cpu temps?

As different programs are giving me conflicting readings.

I am using PC wizard 2006 as it its the only program which publishes the same temp for my gpu as the nvidia drivers do as that is where it fetches the temp from.

I use Lavalys EVEREST Ultimate Edition to monitor my temps. My nVidia drivers says 45° and so does EVEREST, so I guess it's pretty good.

Then do it manually. You'll need to figure out your modifier and target speed in MHz. Then divide the Target speed by the Modifier and the number you get is what you set your FSB to,

Forget what I said, I got it now, overclocked to 2600 MHz, works fine and is stable. But I have a question:

Right now my FSB is set to 260 and my multiplier to 10. Does it make a difference to the perfomance if I lower the multiplier speed and increase the FSB?

nope. either way you get the same frequency. in fact, you might be able to get a higher overclock if you do it that way. but you have to play with it for a long time.

i've read that 245/11 multi is stable at 1.55 volts, and still doable with air. that will get you a 2.695 ghz o'c

but you have to keep in mind your ram. your memory frequency will also raise with the fsb, so.. keep that in mind and set divider accordingly, or lower your set mhz to like ddr333, and let the overclock raise it back to 400 or so. but, like i said, you'll just have to play around with it, and see what works.
