Gainward 7900 Gs (512Mb Mem) Enough for F.E.A.R and most new games?

Right, I am building my new box right now (Though only the HDD and the GFX card (Gainward GF 7900 GS 512Mb mem) have arrived) And still waiting for the rest parts (Gigabyte Mobo, Intel Core 2 Duo E6400, Corsair ValueSelect 1 Gb 667 MHz, and a Zalman 460W PSU) I have already begin to plan on the casemod (You can see the plan when i begin to mod it ),
But Im a bit worried about the GFX card. It has warranty of 3 Years and Im only going to OC it after the warranty has void, so im asking would it be enough to run most today's new games??? (Like F.E.A.R, Half-Life 2 ( Doesn't even run 1 FPS on this ol' comp) and SilkRoad Online on maximum setup)

I would also like to think what do you think about this GFX card, good or bad?

Hell yea! I've got a eVGA 7900GS KO 256mb and it runs everything I want, usually at high detail.

I've got a saphire x700 and it plays doom 3 on high settings (not ultra high)
Im not sure about the fps it gets but the game play isnt laggy at all. A 7900 would be killer!

a 7900 gs would easily play half life 2 lost coast on full settings. i have a 6800 ultra and i get 50 something fps when running the lost coast demo.

f.e.a.r will also be a "everything tweaked" game. id be very surprised if you couldnt get good framerates with all options on.

the only thing that worries me about your new build is the 1 gig or ram. id say spend the extra and get a second gig. you'll thank yourself later. and if you know what your doing, you can prob get that ram to run at close to ddr800 speeds too. ive had corsiar 677 run at almost 900...mind you that was xms too, but.. ddr2 overclocks nicely.

7900 Gs is a great card at its price point. Good card to tie you over until there are mid range direct x 10 cards on the market.

Hmm, like Bart mentionned, 1 GB of RAM is not enough. For BF2 you need at least 1.5 GB to run smoothly on smooth settings. With the 7900 GS and 2GB RAM you can run BF2 on full settings smoothly but with a 7900 GS and 1GB on full settings it poops.
