Extremely unnecessary right now - I know it's been pointed out, but assuming each major component uses up to 300W at MOST, the hard drive, processor, and video card, and motherboard would only total 1200W. ANd that is assuming each part uses 300W, considering a Hard Drive uses less than 100, a Processor is less than 100, and only the highest end graphics cards right now get close to 260W, so I don't think this is really feasible.

i would buy one... if i had cash growing in my wallet.. not happening, i checked but:
#think peltier? and 2x or 4x quad processors? quad sli? all watercooled?
#doesn't consume 2000W.. if it has an 80% efficiency (hopefully more), for a 400W draw (one nifty computer..) it sucks..err.. (win+r calc)500W.. not 2+kW.. of course, if you would buy this psu for a <100w computer, it will be inefficient..
aanyways, i think this is just for mad people who want bragging rights.. or for those that could use that extra power (1kw extra!) and have free electricity (i do .. but not at home.. at the dorm.. i don't have to pay for anything other than my bed.. but it's not very eco friendly)

I put together a dream system with peltiers in mind a few years ago. I could have had 2000W in cooling alone. But then again, I wanted the computer to never get above 0 degrees.

Haha.. I figured that would get some responses around here.

Now for the part that you all hate.. "I dont pay utilities.. they are included in my rent."

So for me, power usage is not a concern. Not that I need 2kw of power either, but who knows.. maybe I will.. eventually..

well considering that most elctirc companys charge for kilowatt hours thas a lotta moola your shelling out for considering that quad sli will work with 3/4 kw psus anyway and i doubt that nvidia will make the physics rendering card nearly as power consuming i mean i dont think that even the agiea physx card uses a molex! i find that albeit an amazing bragging right that its unnesscessary i mean even for a 8U server thats ridiculous i mean if the pc power cooling 1kw psus can theoreticly run 22 hdds without spliters and say ultra doubled that that would be 44 drives!!!
(im including the release of seagates 1tb hdd at ces) that would mean almost 50 terabytes of hdd space!!!!! DAMMMMMMMNNNNNN
check out my pc on youtube
sorry for the lack of a decent video it was late
