OK first of all what kind of plastic do you use for framing the structure of your mods....second what process do you use to skin them and how do you make objects like the chainsaw on the gril of the Doom 3 pc? THANKS

P.S. just curios as how to build my first full pc mod and what ill need to buy for supplies and what not.......Thanks Again

toast07.....I'd reccomend looking thru the Doom3 ( http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/f...530ee21669d016 ) and Nighthawk ( http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/f...hread.php?t=28 ) worklogs and then ask more specific questions as they occur to you. Those two worklogs alone will answer what you've asked so far and probably much much more.

Styrene plastic,
skinned with umm paint, spray paint to get technical, plastikote and duplicolor work best.
Chainsaw was made with bondo and sculpted

ya I went through and read the doom 3 like 8 times last night and i foud out how he made the chainsaw but before he painted the top roof desing he skinned it with somthing and i was just wondering what and how...thanks for your ansers i really appreciate it

I cant remember exactly, but it was a type of plastic... Which he then covered in Auto bodyfiller, to smooth out.
From what i can remember anyway.. it should be there somewhere. But i think Crimson should get in here and tell us how its all done!

all it sayes in the doom 3 worklog was "skinned" so i dont know if you cover it with more styrene plastic or not???

I just read the log and i'm not exactly sure how the first part of the skinning was done... but it says that an acrylic halfround bar was bent to make the curve at the top, and bondo was used to smooth out the skinning...
Crimson will have to fill in on how he did the skinning...

Sculpey!!!!! It's a home oven bake clay. That works wonders too!!!
