    Default Dell poweredge 2300

I recently got a dell poweredge 2300 from a friend for free. I tried to boot it up but it won't go to the login screen, it just keeps looping the start up utility stuff. any ideas on how to fix it?

Reformat it with a new OS. Windows 2000 is a nice one, and it's cheap now.

Was XP installed on that machine, or on the HDD from another machine, then put in the Dell?

I had the boot loop happen when I tried to transfer my HDD from my old computer straight into my new computer.

Use your copy of XP to boot and then use the recover option. If that does not work, you may have to re-install.
