    Default Dremel speed for cutting through case?

    Hey, just wondering about how fast my dremel needs to be to cut through my case, the maximum it goes is 10,000RPM

    Normally with steel, faster is better.
    With plastic, too fast will melt the plasic back together just after the cut.

    When cutting metals, I use a heavy duty cutting wheel, but the speed depends on the metal. I have the XP-400 Dremel and I use the settings from 8-9 for aluminum, and for steel, 8.5-10 depending on the thickness. Go slow and don't force it. Keep a steady hand and be carefull for skipping. Practice on some scraps before you go for your case.
