    Default Network question.

I have a question about my on-board network port. I play some network intensive games and was wondering if I would get a lower ping and less lag if I would use a network card instead of the onboard network port. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanx!

My answer: Couldnt hurt to try.

I've worked on some Novell networks where the onboard NIC on a server was having trouble servicing the requests of the workstations, and a PCI nic was the answer.

If you have $$$, check out the that Bigfoot killer nic

It shouldn't make a huge difference. If you mobo is only 10/100 you could upgrade to a gigabit Ethernet card 1000mpbs but that would mean you would need a new router and the other computers would also need gigabit Ethernet cards.

Not really a problem. I like the onboard on my PC (Realtek 100 mb/sec). It does everything I need it to do.
