Default 2 250 gb hard drives, 1 partition??

Well I have 2 250 GB Hard drives and I want to make them a single partition. I was wondering if I should use raid 0 or not and if there is a way to create the raid without losing the data. If not then what would be a good way to back up the data on one of the 250gb hard drives?

    Thanks again

How much data do you need to backup?

You will lose data if you convert to a raid configuration via Windows.

I need to back up about 170 gigs of data.

EDIT: Well I do have most of the data backed up on dvd, I just want to take the lazy route lol. I also need to get my hands on another hard drive, something small, for the O.S. These are for the server I have built for my home.
