    Default A computer barn find.

It is always good to get free stuff. I went to my dad's office and helped clean out a storage room. There was a lot of junk and I got to keep whatever I wanted. I got a PII computer and five mice, some power cords, a phone line tool (wish it were cat5), and two really cool finds. The first really cool one is a UPS. I've been wanting to get one and now I will have one. The second is a weird piece of dated medical equipment. It is called the Bacti-Cinereator III. The center of the device gets to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. It is meant for cleaning needles and things, and I don't know what I will use it for. I figured that I can always throw it out later, but I can't get it back once it is gone.

    Enjoy!

I don't know what you'll use it for neither...

But with 1,500 degrees... the possibilites are endless...

You could melt aluminum with that temperature.

It's an autoclave. Although I've never seen one with a big ass filter on top like that before.

..that would be a great torture device...

    ... <slaps self >
for the bacteria and stuff, man what is wrong with you people... ....

    seriously though

maybe you could make a hot air solder iron, from it, that would be very useful if you ever decide you want to use integrated circuits (chips)

That isn't an autoclave, autoclaves are instrument washers that combine extremely high temps with high pressures. That device is used to sterilize thin wire wands used by microbiologists to "plate" or transfer specimen solutions on media plates for incubation. It is an over-glorified sterilizing candle.

lol. Bacteria are killed at 168 degrees Fahrenheit.

You could take the metal part off and make a neato heatsink out of it

According to the documentation on the unit, it deivers a 5-7 second burst of infrared to clean the medical gizmos. Neat!
