he said 7600 gs vs 7600 gt. the 7600 gs does not have 20 pixel rendering pipelines. you are confused with the 7900 gs. (which you stated in your post). if a 7900 gs was cheaper than a 7600 gt, i think there would be a bit of a problem.

id go with the 7600 gt passively cooled card.

"The GeForce 7600 GT extends its clock speed advantage over the GS as we move to memory, with the GT sporting GDDR3 memory chips clocked at 700 MHz. GDDR3's a little indulgent for the more affordable GeForce 7600 GS, which is typically equipped with GDDR2 memory clocked at just 400 MHz. Both GeForce 7600 series chips have a 128-bit memory bus, so the clock speed gap gives the GT nearly twice the memory bandwidth available to the GS."

clock speeds are also a fair amount higher

DEF go with the 7600gt. you wont regret it

^^^ In that case definately get the GT. The benefits of GDDR3 over GDDR2 alone are worth the extra $

I know what he said. I also know he asked to compare between the 2 and didn't ask if I could find a better card. I don't understand how I can be confusing the pipelines of the 7900GS with the 7600GS if I correctly stated it in my previous post. The point of that post was to maybe inform him of a card that he might have overlooked. Especially since the 7900GS was priced below the 7600GT.

You guys are going to slap your foreheads when you hear this, but... I think I'm just going to go with this... 7300GT. Truth be told, I really do not have the money to spend on a card that's going to be more than I need for graphic design and video editing, and possibly high resolution pornogra- eh... female anatomy video files. Most of my funds are going into a beautiful Lian Li case and multiple scratch disks. However, your helpful advice has taught me a lot more about video cards than I already knew so thanks so much for that. If you still have any recommendations or comments on my decision, please let me know I am still very interested.

p.s. Also, let me know if you are interested in the humble rig I am putting together. Cheers.

For video editing, you realy should get the 7600.....
I have the 7300GO in a laptop and I wouldnt want to have to work with high resolution videos with it....
