Not really a LAN party kind of guy...the computer's heavy! Plus, i can't stand the whole 'l337' bull**** you sometimes get. I'd end up laying someone out flat. I only play with guys i know, which works well for me.

People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.
I'm with DaveW and SnowFire. Only been a participant at one event though. I once "worked" a LAN party for a friend doing tech support and wanted to lay some well deserved smack down on most of the geeks by the time the event was over (some of the parents were the worst). I must say though it was fun.
Occasionally I hold a private lan party at my house with a dozen or so friends. It usually happens when the SO is on vacation for a few days with her sisters or friends. It is mostly adults (although one friend brings his kid), so we behave like adults and break out the fresh keg of Blackthorn and loud music. (yes my neighbors love me!)

Never got the chance to go to a LAN party. I'm sure it'll be interesting. I bet some of the people there would be impressed with my computer, but not impressed with my Halo skills. I'm not that good in Vs. Halo battles; I like Co-op more.

We have long distance LAN parties and talk to each other with TeamSpeak.
Even in EQ2 the only rule for our guild membership is that you have to be able to meet for lunch once a week.

I don't like going to LAN parties anymore. Used to love it, playing SC or just some good old CS or CS:S.
I just hate the fact that some people get pissed off because they lost or everyone seems to pick on them more..then they get all drama kinged!!

There's a LAN Party hosted at my school from time to time. Most everybody there is over the "l33t" bull****, and if they aren't, I tend to be able to mop up the floor with them
It has around 150 attendees, most of which are students of the school. We play everything from UT2k4 to WC3 to C&C games and plenty more.
