When they switch to a 45 nm process (hopefully soon).

If you're on a budget, one of the best dual cores would be the new Pentium D Presler 9-- Series. They range in GHz (you could just OC a cheap one), and they really do work. The all new 9-- series has 2 MB cache (over 1 MB in the 8-- series) with an improved core architecture (Presler; more efficient).

Im getting the Presler 915 (I think) w/ 2.8 GHz clock and 2 MB of cache. This thing is gonna haul ass for the awesome price of $97.

I'm guessing it will happen sometime in the 3rd quarter when Intel releases these new revisions. The way I look at it, it is like a price cut but with new CPUs that haven't been out yet. If you know what I mean. But if those are out of your budget, I'm sure the current Core 2 Duo's will drop; maybe around the $100 mark depending on the model.

Why would anyone pay that much for a second hand one when they can be bought new for that much?
Second hand ones go for around $150-$200 tops.

It'll happen just before you plan to sell it. It's how it always happens.
