Defyant's bondo tutorial is linked in my sig.
It explains a lot of the basics of bondo work.

Tip 1: Do a lot of coats, and use two different grits of sandpaper (coarse for the beginning, and a finer grit for the end).

    Tip 2: Wear mask.

Tip 3: It's very much like joint compound (drywall putty). Should be fairly easy to sand, and even easier to paint on.

Tip 4: Use a small leveling stick to see if it is even (most of the time people forget about it and they end up with a "dome" of Bondo). Place one end on the middle of the place where you put bondo, and the other on a metal part of the case. Check to see if it is level. Also make sure that the case is on level ground before doing this.

    Great idea.
I took an old plastic cooler I had sitting around and learned how to do bondo work on that. I redid the top and sides of it. It teaches you a lot about application, sanding, layering and painting bondo without messing up your nice case or project.

    1. Mix the appropriate ratio of Cream and Hardener.
    2. Golf ball sized amount that can be applied in 4 mins or less.
    4. Sand with a sanding block or you'll constantly be going back and filling up.
    5. Go from 50 to 180 grit.
    6. Vacuum regularly
    7. Use a tak cloth before applying any primers.
