    Default Mini ITX

    Hey guys,

I'm needing some good places to find ITX boards/accessories. My brother-in-law wants a HTPC made out of a broken PS2 and asked me to do it.

I know absolutely jack about mini ITX.
Does someone have any good learning resources dealing with this form factor?

If I could get some links/stores/forums to check out that ship to America, that would be great.

Newegg has them, but they are limited. I bought mine off of an eBay seller, and I got a good price on it. Otherwise...

I was amazed just how easy it was to tear down a PS2. It took me less than half an hour and only 2 bits to do it.
It's like it's screaming to be taken apart.

Anyway, one of the units I have died from a power brownout and the other is a display model.

Thanks for the links guys, they've already helped me. I need to go get measurements and play with my finances.

You want small? They also have NanoITX mobos out. They measure 4" by 4".

Crimson I could kiss you. That's exactly what I wanted.

I don't think I will go with nano. After some measurements and a look at the books, mini ITX will fit, and has a lot better options for what I need.
Mainly, GbE, 5.1 surround, tolerable graphics processor.

Does anyone have experience booting from CF? All this small computing is giving me ideas for a car PC and hard drives don't handle vehicles well.

I wish I could help, but I really don't have any idea what a "CF" is.

He probably means "Compact Flash," as in the card.
