well with the 12 inch youll be able to center the ccfl under the window, so im gonna go with 12 inch

I vote for 2x 4 inch, one on the bottom and one on the top, but stagered, like bottom left and top right or something.

Or have them in an L shape behind the window... one on left, one on bottom.... People generally do this in cases so there are no shadows cast over components inside their case. (its why i did it anyway)

I would get which ever one can fit in your case.
The price diference isnt realy that diferent, so it all comes down to size...
So I’m saying if you can fit 12 get 12 simple.
