I had the idea of the 360 logo over the dvd drive for a while now. I just dont know if I should do it, because henmill already did it; I dont want it to seem like a design ripoff. So the DVD cut-out idea is still up in the air. I am open for suggestions though.

Personally, I say if you like the X logo over the dvd drive, i say go for it. I wouldn't let the fact that its been done hold you back.

Finally got my parts.

Everything laid out:

Some kind of cell phone booster that came with it all. Now I'll see if these actually work.

Temp probes and fan installed:

Adhesive tape.

This foam block diverts all of the air toward the GPU heatsink.

Clear fan shroud

Need to wire a molex connector later on.

Power splitter for the fans:

Had to mount it in a place that the DVD drive wouldn't interfere with it.

With that secondary fan you installed on the side, Do you have to cut in to the side of your case or is it meant to suck through the vents that are already there?

Works, but...

Fan 2 isn't spinning.

So being discouraged yesterday, I threw all the stock **** back into it and tested it with just the pusher fan to see if there were any improvements.

The 360 Elite's don't use as much power for the processor than the 360. The 360 freezes after an hour of play laying on its side. The 360 Elite starts to lag and jump frames after an hour, but doesn't freeze. After installation of just the pusher fan, I found that it didn't offer much of an improvement gaming-wise. It still glitched and skipped frames after an hour of play.

Now to hop back into it:

I fixed the fan; loose wire.

But I hear grinding noises now,

even with the case assembled. The GPU fan is grinding something.

I have no choice but to make it fit without fault.

The video output block is taller than a 360's, because of the addition of HDMI. This kit wasn't designed for the 360 Elite.

I had to move the RF card; it sends the info wirelessly, instead of thru a USB.

I soon found out that the board was too far away from the sensors of the receiver uniot to pick up the signals.

So I moved it closer using the existing mounts from which it used to be screwed to.

Finished product, and no grinding.

It gives off a nice blue glow. I can't wait until I install the plexi window.

So, the install of the fan kit; 1 to 10, it was a 4. Not too bad, but it wasn't exactly all snap-it-in. I needed a pair of dikes to cut the plastic. Also it was kinda like a puzzle; install the clear shroud, next is the DVD drive, then the pusher fan.
