There are wired and wireless webcams. You can't make a wired wireless. But what you can do is hook a computer up near your front door and upload your webcam via internet. Just like if you were to watch one of your friends on their webcam.
The easiest way is to just use a messenger. Yahoo is good because you can have a separate window for viewing the webcam and you can make it as big as you want.
Otherwise, move your computer to somewhere closer to the door?

What you need is a network cam.

Also there are kits you can buy where you can share usb devices over a network. I don't know if it would work with a webcam as they are just meant for sharing flash drives.
