    Default Downloading Torrents

Ok bear with me, I have no idea where I should of made this topic.

I'm downloading 2 torrent files through Azureus 2.5. One is 8.36 GB and the other is 4.16 GB. I'm more concerned about the bigger file. I have Windows running with the basic visuals, pretty much basic everything. I'm gonna get the cable modem moved into my room, run a coaxial splitter from the wall so I can still have cable for my TV, and have the other coaxial line go into the modem. From the modem, a piece of CAT 6 wire will be connected into my computer. Hopefully it will be 1000 MB/sec instead of 54 with my wireless.

Is there any other possible way to help this torrent download faster?

torrent speeds also greatly depend on the ratio of "seeders" (people uploading) and "leechers" (people downloading).

Pretty much sums it up. ALWAYS look for torrents with a high count of seeders, and a low count of leechers. Seeders are either people providing the torrent, or people downloading who are also uploading (like any nice torrent downloader should). Leechers are bad people who only download and don't upload.

I know the vocabulary and the significance of seeders and leechers, I just have no choice with these 2 files; they're the only available copy. They both have a gig each downloaded, both estimating 4 days to download. I'm gonna be in the Pittsburgh Parts-A-Rama all of tomorrow, so I can't get this connection done til Saturday night. I was just wondering if there's any background processes I can terminate that may help, or something that I could do different with my network.

Other than playing around with your settings, there's not all that much you can do, other than hope and pray someone else decides to seed in addition to your source.

I agree, you are probably stuck waiting.

If you're unable to find a new torrent, then just stick with it. I had a 4.6gb torrent that took over a week to download (nonstop and force started in uTorrent, mind you).

Or a bootleg (NOT ILLEGAL, I've no desire to have that discussion) concert video.
