    Default Shelby Meet

Its been quite a car weekend here in Tulsa. Another event took place across town from the Tulsarama car show. We have an annual Shelby Meet here. All kinds of Fords from all over come to town and participate in different events. On Friday they went to Hallet Motor Raceway .. Hallet is a road circuit track.

Then on Saturday they all headed over to Tulsa Raceway Park, the local drag strip. Then on Sunday they all get together and have a car show and vote for the nicest cars in several categories.
Since I am going to be way too busy to go tomorrow, I decided to take a look today after they got back from the drags...
    There were some Cobras..

    Boss Mustangs

    Mach 1's

    GT350's

    GT500's
    OLD---

    Sorta old??

    And NEW!

And of course we can't for get about one of our own's name sake
    The Ford GT

There were a few non Mustang Fords there as well..
This Comet does a 10.52 Quarter .. pretty respectable..

This Edsel did Mid 11's .. But he had a secret weapon.. note the dangling
    bowtie out front.

Ooooohhhh....the Cobra 427 is at the absolute top of my dream car wish list! I'd even settle for a replica.

There was one there with a completely polished aluminum body. It was too quick for me to get a picture, but it sure did sound sweet as it ROARED away!!

a guy near my house has an old Cobra, completely restored to the way it was in the 60...except for the sturdier transmition and the engine bored out to 454, or larger, I can't remember.

Actually there were 3 more that I didn't get a chance to take pictures of. They were just leaving the lot together as I pulled up. A yellow/black strip, a black/white stripes, and a grey/black stripes. And they were definitely having a good time as they pulled out in unison!! The sound was incredible.
