What brand/type of paint do you use to paint the case to give it that reflective shine like ive seen on all these mods. They take a plain white case and make it shiny and its so shiny you can see reflections in it.

Hope you get what im talking about, sorry im a nub

    Thanks again!

its just a matter of sanding in between lots of layers of paint and then finish it off with wax

    Thanks guys for the help!

also..on that site it say thin coats of the paint, and then obvious sanding in between, about how long does a good "REFLECTIVE MIRROR-LOOKING COAT" take? That says you have to wait like 2 days for it to set or something....

If you really want a good paint job, wait the two days and be patient. Dont go out touching it either, just wait two days without worrying about it then go back to it. If you take your time and do things right, a good job will take about 1-2 weeks.

If you use rubbing compond to fill in some of the small streaks you'll get from sanding that will also help. Take the time to let your paint cure between layers and sanding. For very small or irregular areas, you can apply Vaseline to the areas to be masked. The paint won't stick to the Vaseline. If disk drives are to be painted, plastic hobby model paint can be used for these. Adhesion to plastic is better and wear characteristics are better than generic enamel. For a very smooth finish, sand the case smooth before starting. Sand wet with 1500-grit sandpaper between coats of paint. Use at least six clear coats, sand before the second clear coat but don't sand the final coat. You can apply an automotive polish, buff, and then apply a wax. Good luck
