I appreciate your time and any suggestions you may have.

I use Createx, because it's the only paint around here XD. You can use any kind of airbrush paint you want really, it's all preference. Are you planning on buying it online, or at a retail store? If it's the latter, you should go there and see what they have, and then make your decision.

What's the difference between airbrush paint and a can you'd buy for painting your car?

    Hey everyone.

I meant to reply to this thread a couple of days ago but I've been in one of those, 4 hrs of sleep a night for a week, hazes because of work. I've got tomorrow off though so I'm stoked.

You have a couple of choices for Airbrush Paint:

    - Createx -
    • the best value
    • pretty good colors
    • great airbrush paint for practice
    • no candy colors available

    - Auto Air by Createx -
    • the best value for pro quality
    • water based so it's really easy to mix and reduce
    • great for your serious projects
    • great candy colors (used for a super deep color effect)
    • tons of colors available including sparkle and stuff
    • works great with Duplicolor spray paint (which I use for the base colors and clearcoat)

    - House of Kolor (HOK) -
    • Professional level paint (urethane based)
    • Really expensive (use only for pro level work)
    • Phenominal Colors and Specialty Effects Colors
    • Great paint to use once your really comfortable with mixing and reducing paints

I love surfing eBay for the best deals on Airbrush Paint and other airbrush stuff. They have a pretty robust selection which is kinda rare for airbrush stuff. Airbrush Page on eBay.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you've got any more questions.

Is this a good deal/airbrush for a beginner with a few training sessions on an airbrush.

YES! I highly recomend it until you can move up to a gravity fed airbrush, such as an Iwata.

If you want to get a Paasche VL(that's the kind you just posted), I would spend a couple of dollars more and get the Paasche Millennium. It's the same airbrush with a cool metal handle. Here are some links for ya:

Here's a good eBay store I've used a couple of times also. Check out what they have. They have pretty good prices.
