fraps limited to 23fps?

But my resources arent used up? My fps go from 640 down to 22 lol? Full version of fraps as well.

anything i can do to fix this?

I was playing Delta Force - Black Hawk Down and in game w/o fraps recording, it said I was getting 550-620ish fps. Once I hit record it dropped alllll the way down to 20-24fps.

The next map I was getting 450fps w/o it recording but once i hit record it dropped back down to 20-24.

Then when I tried playing the video, it turned out like this:

Frame per second in a video game. Fraps is a recording utility. He's probably in a Warcraft guild and they are trying to recreate the Ony wipe :p.

Lol, I know what FPS and Fraps is (I had Fraps for a while). I meant I didn't understand what he was doing when it happed, what he was playing, etc.

So, this slow-down only happens when you're recording? Recording video of your screen takes massive CPU resources and probably a good disk I/O hit as well. You can play with the encoding settings and lower the resolution your game is running at to improve performance. Unless you want to play with showing the game in slow-mo in your vid, you don't need to capture faster than 30 fps anyway.
