Thread: 14cm PSU Fan on Custom CPU Cooler?

Default 14cm PSU Fan on Custom CPU Cooler?

Short story. Recieved DOA PSU for review. Took out 14cm fan and a little fan speed controller. Built custom shroud to hold 14cm fan on a CPU cooler. Am clueless if I could actually use fan however.

    Fan:
    14 cm. Very quiet.
    1 - yellow/black two-pin male connector.
    1 - red/black two-pin male connector.

    Circuit board:
    1 - red/black two-pin male connector.
    3 - female two-pin connectors.

Wiring wise, I'm pretty clueless. Could this be hooked directly to the CPU fan plug on the motherboard? Could/should the circuit board be used to control fan speed? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i would think you can use it, just need to change those 2 x 2pin plugs to 1 x 3 pin plug. you don't need the black on the yellow i think. and you wouldn't need the speed controller since the mobo (usually has one built in).

Would you mind peeling up that golden sticker so we may see which wires are duplicates?
