Default Cutty Sark Project (wood ship model)

My little project that does not fit in any other sub-forum (I think..., so admins correct me if I am wrong)

This (what is on the pictures) should be the easiest part if compared to what is coming.

This is the hardest level from the manufacturer "Billing Boats" and I am not sure if it was good idea to start from it, since I never done anything like this, but I am excited and I think I can handle it.

    http://www.billingboats.com/564.htm

It is going to be 67 sm high, 110 sm long

Here it goes (this is a beginning part):

I did mess it up in the beginning. thanks god it is going to stay on the inside and won't be seen =P

    Here is the full thing

    I just like photography =)

That's what I am on right now

Here we don't see a part when I messed up =)

wow that's a challenge. of course, once built you will need to burn it if you want a model of her as she is now.

I was planning to paint it in white color, let it dry then use two other colors, brown and black (like on the picture on the website). then put a layer of lacquer.

But if it is better to burn it, then can you tell me some more information about it? I have no idea what "burning" is when doing it on a ship o0

    How do I do it?
    What tools do I use?

    thanks

Burning is when you use a fine tipped soldering iron to burn details into wooden models. But Crazy was being sarcastic and meant to set fire to the model

Mr Sky is as on the ball as ever. I was making a joke about the fact that the real one sadly burned during recent restoration works - something I watched with great sadness from my bedroom window as I have very fond memories of playing pirates on her as a child.

Also educated me about a technique I have used but didn't know had a name - thanks for that.
