Default Installing XP on a vista laptop.

    Hey!

A friend of mine brought me a new Compaq Presario cq70-120US laptop and wants me to remove vista and put XP on it. I went through a lot of trouble tracking down the xp drivers (HP was of little help). So i stuck my xp cd in and tried to load windows. It will load the setup files fine but when it tries to start the installation menu, it'll blue screen on me. Happened 4 times, cd has some minor scratches but nothing major.

Compaq has put a recovery partition on the drive and i think that may be causing the problem.

    Sugjestions Please!

    well i figured it out!

The laptop uses a sata controler and xp didnt like it. I had to use nlite to preinstall the drivers and presto!
