Can the monitor be really really old and crappy? Like about to fart out? I'm not sure what really what I've got (It's at home and I'm at college), but I've got some old computers I know.

yeah sure. i just need a monitor to get it up and running with. i'm gonna mod the hell out of it once i get it. i just need one other then my brand new HP.

I'm not sure when I'm going home next. But I'll see what I have then. In the meantime, if you want this sooner as opposed to later, I'd keep asking. But when I go home I'll make sure to grab some stuff.
