    Well, here's my view:

"If you were a kid with life-threatening conditions, would you feel happy to read cool lines, or words of encouragement?"

I mean, you're 100% right. Whomever donated towards it can say whatever they want, but words of encouragement can be uplifting for kids.

I am hereby offering any plastics services that I possess. Vaccum formed logos anyone?

I can vacuum form, injection mold if I can get the die for whatever made (or make one), and make just about any shape in any plastic (think acrylic, too!)

I like the tribute idea, a lot. Maybe we could even put TBCS's URL on there so that if the person wants, they can thank us themselves.

Now, you have to keep in mind, there's quite a few of us in on this, so a sentence or two might take up a good amount of space on the case, but a great idea, nonetheless.

If we can get a specific person, too, then we can probably find out stuff about them, making what we say more personal than something like "hang in there".

So, Crimson, will the Make A Wish foundation actually let us know what somebody wants in specific?

Yes it would be VERY specific...It would be the computer the child wants, not what we want. Who knows yet, could be that the kid wants a specific theme.

Well I geuss that's both good and bad at the same time =/

Good because we know what the person wants, but bad because we might not know a lot of things about that specific theme.

I guess we'll see where this leads.

    EDIT:

Oh, I am guessing that a Full-ATX case would be best for modability, too.

Ok I have to admit I'm near the point of tears reading this, it's such an awesome idea. Count me in, I'll supply anything that's still needed ... components, time, money. The "Make-A-Wish" foundation thing was a stroke of pure genius. If the "Wish" is very specific in the hardware department You can count on me, I can buy something or just send the builder the cash whichever is simplest.

If the current Master Components List is still valid I also have a SB:Audigy2 ZS, and even a DVD+/-RW/CD-RW combo drive that I'd feel no real pain in parting with.

I'll be checking with this section of the forums constantly to keep myself updated on the status.

I love this Forum, you guys are all awesome.

PS. I think I'm allowed to say this now ... +Rep to ALL present. Again you guys are awesome.

I love the idea of the Make-a-Wish foundation. Its a win win situation. A sick shild gets what they want, and we get to make one killer computer based around a theme. (sounds almost like some TV shows...)

I too would like to volunteer any of my services. Times, money, parts, whatever I can offer.

Crimson, if the foundation only says something like "we need a computer" (which I doubt), but if they do, try to find out about the kid, what he/she likes. That way it could even be a surprise..."hey a computer...THAT LOOKS LIKE IT CAME FROM MY FAVORITE MOVIE!", it would really add the personal touch IMO.
