Maybe its because Gamers have a competative mentality, while modders have a creative one, who enjoy making something from nothing while gamers enjoy destroying something into nothing (with big plasma cannons)

Frankly, 90% of the people who frequent gaming forums are about 13 (at least mentally if not physically, definiately grammatically), and it shows.Originally Posted by l337_G4mA
NB if you are looking for l337_G4mA's post in this thread but can't find it, theres a good reason, it's not here because this isn't a gaming forum (thank god) but I'm sure you can find it or something just like without much effort on the mighty interweb.
Asking if computers can think is like asking if submarines can swim.
Asking if people think is like asking if a pebble has a preference between Beethoven and Mozart.

You've probably hit the nail on the head here. competition does breed adversity. But from what I have seen, it is more apparent in community forums as they are not just trying to be the best, but also demoralize others to trick them into not challenging them. One on one, there is a great percentage of them who are OK. That is why I say gamers are not all a$$es. Just the forums are. :-)Originally Posted by ZeD
Modders are also very creative oriented. They are more interested in the art for the sake of the art. Not art for the sake of "my rig is better than yours".
Of course I am no psych(ologist/iatrist) so this is just my opinion. Y'all are welcome to disagree if you want![]()
