Default Review: Ultra X4 1050W Modular PSU

A new story entry has been added:

Review: Ultra X4 1050W Modular PSU

Quote:

Ultra is widely recognized as the originator of the modular power supply. In fact, I remember owning their first, the Ultra X-Connect. In the meantime, power supply wattage's and technologies have changed wildly. The brand-new (as in just released this morning) Ultra X4 1050W power supply is here in my lab-how does it live up to the progenitor? I am happy to be the first to bring you a review of Ultra's 1050W X4.

Nice review!

I have had a 1000W X3 for a few years now and it's still going strong and smooth as ever. It's only operating at about 30-40% capacity under full load so it probably doesn't even know it's turned on most of the time. I can say without a doubt it is the best PSU I've ever used. There's a lifetime warranty because you'll never have to use it.
...And my X3 came with the black PVC coated Flexforce cables that don't look bad at all...I'd take good looking cables over an accessory bag any day! Besides, my X3 box holds all the extra cables and tons of other stuff just as well.
I'm not noticing any significant improvements over the X3 line...am I?

I can't tell by the pics, but did they use a black matte finish instead of the mirror finish?
