Blueonblack reviews the Apevia X-Discovery case from Xoxide:
"The X-Discovery is exactly what it was designed to be: an eye-catching piece of hardware that fills all of the requirements of a mid-tower case. While it may not have some of the features that many have come to expect in a modern mid-tower, it performs the function satisfactorily and looks beautiful doing it. At this price range, if appearance is important to you, this case comes highly recommended."
Our very own jdbnsn is well on his way to being certified to mod humans! Jdbnsn has been studying to become a surgeon, and has recently passed his written board exam, meaning that ony a practical exam stands between him and a sexy looking surgery gown with his name on it. Congratulations from the TBCS team, and keep up the good work!
Be sure to show him how proud we are of him and post a sexy nurse!
Ukrainian newcomer Zhukart may be new to the forums, but he sure does know his way around wood carving. Most of the time we see mods of Acrylic, Styrene, and Aluminum, its refreshing when old world techniques are used on modern technology. Zhukart started with a very ordinary block of wood, and sculpted it into an amazing Dragon Claw using sandpaper, chisels, knives, and good old fashion creativity. He wrapped that intricate carving around a flash drive, making it truly a one of a kind. He doesn't speak English so his worklog may not contain much verbiage, but the outstanding photography speaks novels. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you check it out!
Ever get that feeling of not knowing how to proceed with a mod? Yeah, of course you have. It never fails, you get a good head of steam going, and then BLAM! Brick wall. And if you try to continue, chances are you’re just going to screw something that is very important to your mod up.

The Avatar is a fresh, and exciting new product from NZXT. They have entered into the gaming mouse market with a thunderous roar with this incredibly accurate, sleek, and stylish mouse design. It has attractive blue LEDs which illuminate the trim, and DPI setting indicator.
There's no doubt about it. If you want a cheap, fabulous looking case right out of the box that isn't too gaudy, the Raidmax Sirius case is a pretty good bet. If you put a great deal of weight on build quality though, this perhaps isn't the case for you. It's not TERRIBLE, but it's not fun to work with either.
It's been about a year and a half since the Rep System went into place, and I thought it was time that we recognized those that have used the system well. The system was put in place to end wasteful posting. Like a many forums, TBCS had issues of people posting the minimum amount everywhere to get their post count up. Since the Rep System has been put in place, I have seen a notable change in the way many people post.
How high can you count on five fingers? If you are a binary nerd it will be 31, but for the rest of us, we stop at five. Happy news for us, Intel just announced a processor with six cores. We may need two hands to count them, but we only need one brain to know that six is more than two or four. The good old days of single chip computing are close to being over. How long will it be before we see 10 core, or maybe 1023 core chips? We'll have to ask Gordon E. Moore....
I found myself needing a new PSU recently. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted, both in style and performance. I am currently building a new mod, and appearance is important, but obviously I wanted a solid performer also. Like any tech-savvy end user, I did my homework, and after a good deal of research, decided on the Kingwin Mach 1 800 watt modular PSU from our friends at Xoxide.
Well it was an eventful day, even if i was only there for one day of it, Thats rite folks, this is the first writeup for TBCS on a LAN party, for all of you in the UK i can highly recommend going to a "The Frag Factory" (TFF) LAN party, it is the best fun i have ever had at a LAN party in a long time, So much so i plan on becomming a regular.
It looks like we are one step closer to becoming cyborgs, or perhaps one step closer to creating killer humanoid robots that turn on their creators and eventually take over the planet. In that day, we may hear a joke that goes something like this: "Waiter! Waiter! What's this robot doing in my soup?" And the waiter will respond, "It looks like he is performing human tasks twice as well because he knows no fear or pain."
If you want to know more about robots controlled by brain cells, check out the article at NewScientistTech
Only when athletes break records people see that it is humanly possible to reach those limits. They then start to believe and prove themselves that they can do it but it takes that 1 person to go above and beyond....
This was a triumph!
I'm making a note here...huge success!
Even though it took awhile it was finally finished!
But it only took d_Stilgar a couple of weeks, to finish up what was going to be leet!

One of our favorite moderators, Ichbin, reviews a serious mouse and its mousepad counterpart. Wit and humor follow in the wake of the pros and cons of this mouse . . .or should I say Weremouse? This piece of hardware is a true beast, so check it the review.
Ever have the problem of overheating? Ever really want to know why your computer keeps shutting off in the middle of a extensive COD4 Match? A lot of the problem is not what most people think off the bat.
Mitternacht is at it again, this time with his XboX 360. This time he decides to lower the stock temperatures so he doesn't get the dreaded RROD (Red Ring of Death). He starts hacking away at the case as soon as he pretty much can!
Mitternacht starts to work out a nice blue scheme on both the Ring and the inside of the Xbox. He decides to cut out a couple windows in the HDD Cover, Case Cover, and the CD tray! This guy is on a blue-streak!
Defyant is back on the modding scene and is having a great start back. The long anticipated HP-6 mod is now underway. This time defyant has taken it to a new level with this case, with an all aluminum frame for the case. He has also taken a new direction with the outside of this case as well, with his additions of acrylic to the sides and vents. And all this is just the beginning of his latest...
Reviewing how computers have dropped in cost over the years.
Looking back at some older magazines I'm shocked at the prices of computers. Just 10 years ago in Maximum PC's first issue features Dream Machine ’98 with a total cost of $4934. Obviously, Dream Machines are meant to shock, but the cost of the dream machine doesn’t surprise me. The column next to it features a far “better” system that is beyond insane. Here’s the craziest part of the breakdown...
Long time member of the Forum "Commando" released tutorials on how to do various techniques with airbrushing. He was also kind to put them in video format. Smart thinking Commando, I would guess it's pretty hard to do a written tutorial on airbrushing. Anyways, he goes above and beyond the call of duty when he created this, so here some frontpage props!
Project: XPS Ground Effects is brought exclusively to us by the same person who brought us the phenomenal, Motorized Madness case, Rendermandan. Recently he has finished building a custom lighting mod for his new Dell XPS Laptop that is sure to turn some heads....
Suissa custom computers, performance desktop computers to refine the luxury lifestyle.
There slogan really says it all with what they create. Pristine and crisp designs really set these folks apart from any other computer modding company.
I love old computers. I don’t understand them like I do modern computers because there’s a lot more to them than I could begin to figure out. Our computers are nothing like what old computers were ever meant to ever be. Their abilities are so meek by today’s standards that even cheap calculators at Wal-Mart outshine them. But what they lack in brains they soar in sweet history. We’re fortunate to come across...
