Ok, we like different. That's why we're here. We like things that are not like what the neighbors have. Most of us make the things we have different on our own, that's what modding is, but sometimes we just want to be able to buy something off the shelf that's a little off the norm. When it comes to computer cases, the designers at In-Win Development are pretty reliable in that respect. We've already looked at the Ironclad and the F430 cases, as well as the 'Na hard drive enclosure. Today I was given the opportunity to poke and prod at their latest case, the Dragon Slayer...more...

Cooler Master is world renowned for their CPU coolers, and for years their high performance coolers have been a staple in the enthusiast community. In the last few months we have seen the release of some very fast and very hot CPUs. Most namely Intel’s Core i7 980x and AMD’s Phenom II X6 line. With these hot CPUs there arose a need for extreme air coolers and today we are going to take a look at one of Cooler Masters answers to this problem… Keep reading…

Tomorrow TBCS Staff Journalist Trace will attempt to break the record overclock on a Intel i7 980X using an air cooler. To the best of our knowledge Trace will have to hit at least 5.1 GHz (if this number is now higher please PM me a link) and prove that it is stable. To do this Noctua has kindly provided their NH-D14 CPU cooler for this attempt. We chose this cooler because it showed amazing potential by breaking the 5.3GHz barrier on a Intel i5 655K earlier this year. Trace will be broadcasting the full attempt live on Ustream tomorrow. The actual time the attempt will be taking place is still under discussion and we will notify everyone once we have a time set in stone. Keep an eye on this thread for updates and more information on the system he will be using.

Some companies like to impress with the appearance of their product. With others performance or quality are more important. A few others fill the budget niche with inexpensive merchandise. Every company does what it does best to attract you and I, the customer, and a few manage to get more than one of these features together. Today we’ll be looking at a case from In-Win Development, manufacturers of computer cases since 1986. They have gone through a lot of case designs in that time, and are still prolific in the market. Right now there are forty In-Win cases available for sale on Newegg alone. Today I have the pleasure of reviewing their premiere full-tower case, the Ironclad...more...

Everyone who owns a laptop knows the convenience, and importance of a good laptop bag. The versatile laptop bag is for some a mobile office, and for others a mobile art studio. However, for most people the laptop bad just serves as a way of storing their laptop during transport. I would like to think that I fall into all 3 categories. It takes a well designed laptop to meet all of my needs and still be able to stand up to the wear and tear of my on the go lifestyle…more...

PC cases are something we know a thing or two about around here at TBCS. After all they are part of our name, so it’s no surprise that we are asked to review a lot of cases. Thermaltake recently released a new model to its Armor line and we jumped at the chance to give it a hands on review. The A90 is packed with new and exciting features which you can read all about after the jump.

It wasn’t all that long ago that water-cooling was limited to those who were able to hand over a huge chunk of cash to build a custom water loop. There were and still are a lot of things to consider when building a water-cooling system, and the complication also kept away many who would have liked to join the liquid-cooled crowd. While these custom systems are still expensive and complex, there is a new segment of the cooling industry finally coming into its own recently: the pre-assembled closed-loop water-cooling system. There are several on the market, and today we’ll be looking at the ECO Advanced Liquid Cooling system from CoolIT Systems...more...

DDR3 is the new industry standard for PC Memory and there is currently over 300 different sets or configurations to chose from. Stock speeds now range from 800MHz to as high as 2500 MHz. With 4Gb, 6Gb and 8Gb becoming the norm for most enthusiasts level PCs, its no big surprise that things can get a bit confusing when choosing the right ram for your setup. So we here at TBCS have decided to begin reviewing some of newest RAM on the market... Keep reading...

Books. Some like them and some don’t. I am somewhere in the middle. I am not a big fiction reader. Most of the time if you find a book in my hands, it is there for the purpose of injecting knowledge into my brain. Even then I rarely pick up a book and read it, the internet just offers too many free sources of information for me to purchase a book. Books are also chunky, heavy and do not have a nice electronic display. However, with the addition of eBook Readers to the market my time spent reading books could change. A month ago Alurateck sent me their Libre Pro eReader to check out so I could report my findings to you the readers… more…

High-end computers are getting more and more demanding when it comes to power requirements and these days it’s not good enough to have any old power supply if you’re a demanding gamer or overclocker. The latest top of the range graphics cards from both ATI and Nvidia are demanding more power than ever before and the latest flagship motherboards are equally demanding once you start pushing the limits of your system by overclocking it...more...
